Access Rides FAQ

Here are answers to the most common questions about Access Rides. If you don’t see your question here, please contact us.

General Information

What areas do you serve?

We currently serve Round Rock and Georgetown, Texas.  Our service area runs from Hester's Crossing Rd in Round Rock to Williams Drive in Georgetown.

What type of rides do you offer?

We currently offer one-way rides, round trip rides and reserved rides. Things to consider: We are not a ride share. If you purchase a one-way ride you will need to make your own arrangements for the next portion of your trip.  Round trip rides without booked waiting time will be honored.  However, it may take up to an hour to be picked up for your return trip.  Reserving the vehicle ensures the driver stays in your drop off area and will be able to pick you up within 15 minutes of notifying us of your return trip.

What sort of passengers do you service?

We offer safe, reliable rides for seniors and individuals with mobility challenges who can transfer into a standard vehicle. Our drivers can assist with helping passengers in and out of the vehicle when needed. Wheel Chair accessible rides are coming soon.

What age is considered a “senior”?

We like to think we’re all young at heart! For our services, we generally focus on adults 55 and older, since many of our riders come from 55+ communities in the area. That said, our rides are available to anyone who may benefit from safe, reliable, and affordable transportation. There is not an age requirement for wheelchair accessible rides.

Do you provide transportation for medical appointments?

Yes, we provide non-emergency transportation to doctor’s visits and other healthcare-related appointments.

Can family members or caregivers ride along?

Yes! We always welcome companions. At least one additional rider can be accommodated at no extra cost, and in some vehicles, we can host up to three companions when space allows.

Can service animals ride too?

Absolutely! Service animals are always welcome at no extra charge. This is one of the ways Access Rides sets itself apart, we proudly accommodate riders and their trusted companions. We can even accommodate smaller non service animal dogs. Sorry cats or other animals are not permitted - your hamster will need to greet you when you return.

Booking & Payment

How do I book a ride?

Booking is simple: call us at 512-508-8404 or email info@access-rides.com. A real person will confirm your trip — no apps or confusing online forms.

How much does a ride cost?

Ride prices vary based on vehicle type and length of reservation. We offer flat-rate fares for one-way trips as well as hourly rates for reserving a vehicle for a set period of time. Rates are subject to change.

Are there hidden fees or surcharges?

Never. Our pricing is simple, straightforward, and transparent. No hidden fees, no surge pricing.

How do I pay for my ride?

All bookings must be prepaid over the phone at the time of scheduling or confirmed to pay via mobile app with the driver.

Can I schedule recurring rides?

Yes. If you have regular appointments, we can set up recurring bookings to save you time and give you peace of mind.

What if I need to cancel my ride?

Please let us know at least 24 hours before your scheduled trip. Cancellations under 24 hours may be subject to a minimum charge. Because we serve a close-knit community of seniors and individuals with mobility challenges, last-minute cancellations take away a resource that could have gone to one of your peers. Prepaid bookings are non-refundable but will be credited to your account for future use.

I can’t find a booking time to fit my appointments. What should I do?

We recommend calling us before scheduling your appointment to check availability. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate every time slot for every customer. As our fleet grows, we expect to expand coverage and offer more flexibility.

What happens if my appointment runs longer than expected?

We understand this can happen. If your vehicle is reserved for another customer, we must honor their booking, and your return ride may be delayed — sometimes by a few hours. To avoid this, we recommend booking extra time when scheduling your ride.

What if I call same day and need a ride?

We will do our best to accommodate same-day requests, but advance booking gives you the best chance of securing the time you need. We are not an on demand ride share service.

What if I book a one-way ride? Can I call for a return trip?

Access Rides is not an on-demand rideshare service. Our vehicles are reserved specifically for each customer and their scheduled time. Because of this, return trips may not always be available at the time you need. We encourage riders to book the vehicle for the full amount of time they anticipate needing, so both the trip out and the return are covered.

Is it possible to get a ride outside of your service area?

Yes, but only for our monthly membership customers. Check out our membership section to see all advantages a membership offers.

Is airport service available?

Not at this time for the general public. However, we do occasionally make special arrangements for our loyal members.

Are passengers insured while being transported?
